Golden Living Center Excelsior Complaint Findings for Exploitation – Theft from Resident

Based on the evidence, the allegation of financial exploitation is substantiated, use of resident funds.
Substantiated Complaint of Financial Exploitation Against Golden Living Center Excelsior Staff Member
Based on additional information received on January 27, 2015, the conclusion is changed from inconclusive to financial exploitation is substantiated. The additional information received included detailed account statements from a charge card and identified several purchases that were not made by resident #1 or resident #1’s family. This was verified by interviews with family members. Based on further interviews with family, the exploitation has been going on much longer than four months.
Interviews completed with administrative staff and the financial responsible parties for resident #1 and resident #2, confirmed that the AP was the only one with access to the residents’ accounts and the facility petty cash fund.
