
MDH Cites Gable Pines at Vadnais Heights for Medical Management Errors
In a report from the Minnesota Department of Health it is alleged that a client at Gable Pines at Vadnais Heights was neglected when facility staff failed to answer emergency alerts, administer prescribed medication to treat urinary tract infection, and appropriately administer nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs causing ulcers in resident.
Failure to Administer Medications Leads to Gastric Ulcer
Neglect was substantiated. The facility was responsible for the maltreatment. A pendant response log confirmed a client waited 56 minutes and 21 seconds for staff to respond to her page for help. During the course of the investigation two additional clients were found to have been neglected when the facility failed to ensure provision of medication management services; specifically, coordinating refills, responding to medication errors, and handling and implementing changes to prescriptions.
