Medication Administration Mistake at Empowerment Healthcare
Neglect was substantiated. The facility was responsible for the maltreatment. The investigation revealed more than four weeks of the medication was not administered according to medical provider’s orders. Although the client was hospitalized, it was for a reason unrelated to the medication failure. The client did not incur harm from the error.
Medication errors are preventable neglect. Often due to a lack of qualified staff members trained on proper medication administration protocols. The proper administration of medications is a critical part of being a care provider and residents and must be done as ordered by the medical provider.
