Cornerstone Residence Fosston Complaint Findings for Physical Abuse
In a report concluded on April 19, 2012, the Minnesota Department of Health cites Cornerstone Residence Fosston for physical abuse by staff.
The allegation is abuse based on the following: the alleged perpetrator, (AP), licensed nurse, abuse Client #1 when the (AP) hit the client and told her she would call her sister if she continued to be “naughty”.

According to Prevent Elder Abuse Physical Abuse and Neglect, perpetrators may be acquaintances, sons, daughters, grandchildren, or others. Physical abuse that is perpetrated by spouses or intimate partners in order to gain power and control over the victim is described in the section on domestic violence. Perpetrators are likely to be unmarried, to live with their victims, and to be unemployed. Some perpetrators have alcohol or substance abuse problems. Some are caregivers for those they abuse.
