Ultimate Home Care Brooklyn Park Complaint Findings for Neglect – Pain Management

In a report concluded on December 3, 2014, the Minnesota Department of Health cites Ultimate Home Care Brooklyn Park for neglect – pain management neglect – health care.

The preponderance of evidence established neglect of health care occurred when the facility failed to obtain and administer a client’s narcotic pain medication for four days, causing the client increased pain and anxiety.

The preponderance of evidence established neglect of health care occurred when the facility failed to obtain and administer a client’s narcotic pain medication for four days, causing the client increased pain and anxiety.

The client was alert and oriented to person, place and time, and required assistance with medication administration.  The client had a physician’s order for oxycodone (a narcotic pain medication) as needed for chronic pain in the client’s lower legs.  The client routinely requested two oxycodone tablets at bedtime for pain.
