Sauer Health Care Winona Complaint Findings for Exploitation

In a report concluded on June 22, 2012, the Minnesota Department of Health cites Sauer Health Care Winona for exploitation by staff.

The allegation is financial exploitation based on the following: the alleged perpetrator (AP) took $40.00 from Resident #1’s purse without permission.

Sauer Health Care Winona Complaint Findings for Neglect

In a report concluded on May 17, 2012, the Minnesota Department of Health cites Sauer Health Care Winona for neglect of health care.

The allegation is neglect based on the following: Resident #1’s INR (a lab test that measures blood coagulation) was not checked, as ordered by the physician.  The resident was noted to have low blood pressure, irregular pulse, and a bruise on her arm which seemed to be increasing in size.  The resident was admitted to the hospital with a critical value INR that was greater than 10.0 (normal 1.0-3.0).
