According to a reported dated May 22, 2014, the Minnesota Department of Health cited Lifesprk LLC after an allegation that financial exploitation occurred when the alleged perpetrator (AP) took a client’s medications.

Based on a preponderance of the evidence, financial exploitation did occur in connect with the AP’s theft of client #1’s Oxycodone narcotic pain medication from client #1’s medication box.

The client resides on the assisted living section of the facility.  The facility reported the theft to the police, and the facility initiated an investigation pertaining to the theft.  Staff was interviewed, and staff patterns were reviewed by the facility and the police.

The investigator’s attempts to interview the AP was not successful.  Criminal charges are pending related to the matter.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a hip fracture is a serious injury, with complications that can be life-threatening. The risk of hip fracture rises with age.

Older people are at a higher risk of hip fracture because bones tend to weaken with age (osteoporosis). Multiple medications, poor vision and balance problems also make older people more likely to trip and fall — one of the most common causes of hip fracture.

A hip fracture almost always requires surgical repair or replacement, followed by months of physical therapy. Taking steps to maintain bone density and avoid falls can help prevent hip fracture.
